Sky Gives Best Broadband Speed Value, Research Claims - 11th Aug 2009

Latest research conducted by Simplifydigital claims Sky offers the best value for broadband speeds, taking into consideration their average speed and price of packages offered.
The survey, which was conducted to find the top package in relation the speed offered, further reports that the Sky internet service provider costs £1.14 per Mb of speed, compared to BT which came last, costing £2.93 per Mb. Virgin Media, Plusnet, Tiscali, O2, and TalkTalk came under £2.
According to the survey, customers must take into account the average broadband speed that they receive for the money that they pay for it. The survey goes on to state that Virgin Media offers the highest speed but the cost is higher then Sky.
Sky also offers broadband and home phone service. Recently the digital TV giant announced an increase in customer take-up, wherein 16% of the households were using all three services of the company.
This survey follows closely on the heels of the recent revelation from Ofcom, which stated that broadband users were not receiving the deserved speed for the money that they provided for it, with the average connection speed standing at 4.1 Mbps compared to the average advertised rate of 7.1 Mbps.
