Which channels will be accessible by me as a subscriber of Sky Multiroom service?
You, as a Multiroom subscriber will receive the channels as per the subscription i.e. the TV packs availed by you. In case you own a Sky+ or Sky+HD box, you can also record programmes of your choice. However, if you wan to watch individual programmes such as Sky Box Office Movies, premieres, sports events and matches you do have to pay for them individually and view them as and when they are scheduled to be aired.
How many Sky TV boxes can be linked up to a single satellite dish?
A satellite dish is capable of supporting eight “feeds” to the maximum. As far as boxes are concerned, this further depends upon the box you choose to have. Each Sky or a Multiroom box requires one feed while the Sky+HD box requires two feeds for it allows you to watch one programme as you record the other which does decrease the number of feeds your satellite is capable of connecting. In normal circumstances, the following combinations are feasible – 8 Standard Sky Boxes showing live content, 4 Sky+HD boxes which air content and record as well or 1 Sky+HD box and six Standard Sky boxes.
Will I face disruption in service if someone begins to watch Sky TV or answers the phone in another room of the house?
Your viewing in a particular room is independent of the Sky TV connections in other rooms of the house. It simply does not matter whether those TVs are switched on or not or whether they have been paused or not for each room with Multiroom service contains an individual set top box which can used by the viewer in the room as per his or her ‘s fancy.
In case of moving into a new home, can I take Sky Multiroom service along as well?
Yes, it is possible that you can take Sky Multiroom service with you each them when you move into a new home. Before you move, do notify Sky about your decision to move into a new home. Sky will then guide as to what you should carry along and also help you in the installation of the Sky TV as well as Multiroom connection. For installation and re connection purpose a Sky Engineer will visit your new home to set up your Sky TV connection.
For what period is the Sky Multiroom offered?
Sky Multiroom is offered on a 12 month contract. Sky Multiroom service can be availed when you first join Sky TV or you could even add this service while you are a Sky TV customer. The moment you decide to avail this service, you could simply call up Sky or log online and upgrade your Sky TV subscription and buy additional TV boxes and packs and for setting up the installation date too.
During the initial period of the 12 month contract, as a Sky TV customer, you can upgrade TV boxes and change TV packs as per preferences.
In case you wish to view Sky Box Office movies and events, you have to request them separately and pay for them accordingly.
Moreover, all the Sky boxes should be connected to a working telephone line.
Can I enjoy Sky Active and Sky Anytime with Sky Multiroom service?
Yes, these services can be enjoyed through a Sky Multiroom service. You can access Sky Anytime service only if you have subscribed to Sky+HD pack and have a Sky+HD box.
Can I watch same channels I in all the rooms which have Sky Multiroom?
Depending upon the Sky TV subscription you have opted for you can view programmes accordingly. Sky Multiroom merely enables you to gain access to Sky TV in another room. For instance, you have installed a Sky+HD box in your living room and a Standard Sky Box in your bedroom which means you can view Standard Sky channels in both the rooms while the HD box in your living room can also air High Definition channels. On the other hand, the Standard Sky Box in your bedroom will be airing only standard Sky channels. In case of watching movies under the Sky Box Office and sports events through special sports channels you have to pay for what you wish to watch.
I am a customer of Sky Broadband & Talk services apart from Sky Multiroom service. Will the Sky Multiroom service affect any of these services?
No, Sky Multiroom will not at all affect other Sky related services such as Sky Broadband and/or Sky Talk.
