What is the requirement for availing Sky Talk service?

How do I know the time slots i.e. ‘Daytime’, ‘Evening’ and ‘Weekend’?
Calls made to UK mobiles, 0845 and most 0870 numbers
Daytime Calls – Calls made between 7 am and 7pm, 7 days a week
Evening Calls – Calls made before 7 am and after 7 pm, 7 days a week
For calls made to other numbers
Daytime Calls – Calls made between 7 am and 7pm, Monday to Friday
Evening Calls – Calls made before 7 am and after 7 pm, Monday to Friday
Weekend Calls are those which are made between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday.
What about the duration of the calls and their charges thereof?
The calls are free of charge and unlimited up to an hour in duration. In case your conversation lasts longer than 1 hour, you will be charged at 5.90p per minute rates will apply to UK landline calls and Sky Talk standard international rates will apply to unlimited international calls. You could always hang up after an hour and redial as often as you wish.

The 20 popular destinations are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Rep, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and USA. Apart from these, calls made to mobile numbers in Canada and USA are also considered.
What are the installation costs to be borne for installation of a new Sky phone line?
While joining Sky TV, you can also join Sky Talk. For more details on joining do call Sky up at 08442 411 076. Make sure you receive information on your installation status and other charges. In case you miss out or cancel the installation without giving at least 3 days of notice, you will lose your installation fee and will be charged further to cover the additional expenses.
In case you wish to avail a new phone line from BT make sure you are well aware of the applicable charges.
Will my telephone number change?
If you are switching over to Sky from BT or any other line rental providers, you could probably keep the same phone number which means less hassle. On the other hand if you are moving from an unbundled provider or from cable, you could request for the same number however there is no guarantee whether the request will be met or not.
Will Sky Talk account for my Internet charges?
This depends upon the type of broadband connection you use. In case of a dial up broadband service, the charges are going to be reflected in your Sky Bill. In case of fixed monthly broadband connection, you will have to pay them on a regular basis.
